Meet The Doctor

Roxanne L. Sylora, M.D.

After receiving her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Illinois, Dr. Roxanne Sylora received her general surgery training at Mt. Sinai Hospital Medical Center in Chicago, a level one trauma center. While training as a general surgeon she also participated

in microsurgical research at the University of Illinois Hospital Center.

Dr. Sylora completed her plastic surgery residency training in Detroit at the Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University. She served as chief resident and assisted in educating the other residents and medical students. To further refine her skills and knowledge, she chose

to pursue additional specialty training with internationally prominent plastic surgeons at The Institute for Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery (Nashville, TN) in breast and cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Sylora was then invited to return as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Plastic Surgery. She educated and supervised upcoming plastic surgeons in the treatment of hand surgery, facial injuries, general reconstruction, and breast surgeries. During this time, she also maintained a private cosmetic practice at the Birmingham Institute of Plastic Surgery in Birmingham,Michigan, specializing in breast surgery and body contouring where she remained

for 2 years before returning to Chicago and her family.

Dr. Sylora has participated and presented material at both regional and national meetings,

which she attends on a regular basis to maintain her expertise.
